Camp Out, Canoe Trip, and Music

What a fun weekend! Although the mosquitoes and heat were quite tenacious, we had a great time camping at the Fellowship Saturday night. We lit a fire, roasted s'mores, told funny stories, sang songs, and gazed at the stars. Then some of the group left to sleep at home, while others pulled out their sleeping bags to tough it out in tents and vans.

Early Sunday, we all gathered for a pancake breakfast, complete with bacon and OJ. It was super yummy and really fun to share a great meal before the canoers took off for their adventure.

According to the World Travelers (who are expert adventurers by now), the canoe trip was a success. "It was SO much fun and we got to swim!" Parents and kids had a fantastic time on the river. This will have to become a yearly ritual.

Back at the fellowship, we made musical instruments. Then Justin Green, a new UU parent, whipped out his guitar and we sang songs and danced. It was a blast.

What really resonated for me this weekend was what an amazing family we are. Everyone came together for fun adventures, pitching in their talents and time. We are really lucky!
